Steve Staresinic has been a member of the GCPAS Council since 2001.

During his many years as Audit and Consulting Manager with Price Waterhouse and PricewaterhouseCoopers in Stuttgart, New York and Frankfurt, he audited and advised German universal banks and investment companies in their initial application of IAS/IFRS, US GAAP and SEC Reporting requirements. He later served as a manager in the corporate accounting department at the Dresdner Bank in Frankfurt, where he was responsible for policy formation and implementation of IAS/IFRS and US GAAP. Subsequently he was the project manager responsible for the US GAAP implementation at one of Europe¿s leading retail companies.

Steve Staresinic has been working as an independent CPA since the beginning of 2003, enabling several mid-sized companies to comply with German and American accounting and reporting requirements effectively and efficiently. He is also the lead consultant and instructor with Ortman Training and Consulting GmbH, which has specialized in assisting companies in the practical implementation of US GAAP and US regulatory reporting requirements, and has for many years successfully trained and prepared European professionals for the CPA examination.

He graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelors Degree in Accountancy and Philosophy. He is licensed as a CPA in his home state of Pennsylvania and in the State of Minnesota.

Carsten Zimmermann has been a member of the German CPA Society since 2001 and a member of its council since 2005 - since December 2006 as Vice President. Within group accounting of RWE Aktiengesellschaft he manages the financial reporting of international divisions (revenue €42bn, IFRS since 1998/1999).

Prior to that, he worked as a senior for the accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers in both the United States and Germany. He advised clients of various industries and sizes and audited financial statements prepared under US-GAAP, IAS/IFRS and German GAAP.

In 2001 he passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. He is licensed in Denver/Colorado. Carsten Zimmermann studied business administration and economics at American and German universities and earned the degree of a Diplom-Kaufmann (Master of Business Administration).

Ralph Brinkmann, Dipl.-Kfm., StB, CPA (IL, USA), MBLT (jur.), MIBP, has been the managing partner at FAS International Auditing & Assurance GmbH Registered Tax Advising Company in Munich (FAS-Group) as well as at Bayern Treuhand International Auditing & Assurance GmbH Registered Auditing Firm in Munich (Bayern Treuhand-Group) since 2007. He studied business administration at the University of Mannheim and Milan/Pavia. He completed his Masters of Business Law & Taxation through a part-time programme. He is a tax consultant and is registered in Chicago, Illinois as US auditor and tax consultant (Certified Public Accountant).

Until September 2006, Ralph Brinkmann had worked as a manager/authorised signatory at the international auditing firms Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young in Frankfurt and Milan for eight years. He also carried out numerous annual audits/assurance engagements in international companies as well as those listed on the stock exchange as per international, American, German and Italian accounting and auditing standards.

Ralph Brinkmann is a lecturer at the International Accounting Academy, a member of the editorial staff of the academy’s InfoDienst and lecturer for international accounting/auditing and member of the University-Senate at SRH College University in Calw. He has been the vice-president of the German CPA Society e.V. since 2001. Furthermore, he is a member of numerous boards and societies related to the specific field (e.g. AICPA) as well as the author of many professional articles and publisher of the IFRS express.

Ulrich Britting ist seit dem Jahr 2001 Mitglied der German CPA Society e.V. und seit Juli 2004 Chairman des Business Valuation Committee sowie Mitglied des IFRS/IAS-Practice-Committee.

Im Oktober 2004 wurde er zum Mitglied von Council und Executive Committee der GCPAS bestellt.

Ulrich Britting hat an der Freien Universität Berlin Betriebswirtschaft mit den Schwerpunkten Finanzierung und Steuern studiert und arbeitet seitdem im Bereich Wirtschaftsprüfung. Er ist seit August 2001 in New Hampshire als CPA lizenziert und seit Januar 2003 als Wirtschaftsprüfer bestellt und ist Mitglied im American Institut of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) sowie in allen wesentlichen deutschen Berufsorganisationen.

Er ist Geschäftsführer der GHP Revision GmbH einer mittelständischen Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft aus Hamburg mit Niederlassungen in Berlin und Frankfurt und beschäftigt sich schwerpunktmäßig mit den Themen IFRS und SOX. Die GHP ist beim Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) in den USA registriert und Mitglied in der IGAF Worldwide einer Vereinigung unabhängiger Wirtschaftsprüfungs- und Steuerberatungsgesellschaften. Ulrich Britting ist Mitglied im European Board der IGAF Worldwide.

Zu seinen Mandanten zählen neben mittelständischen Unternehmen auch deutsche börsennotierte Gesellschaften sowie Tochtergesellschaften SEC - gelisteter Unternehmen.

Vor seiner Zeit bei der GHP war Ulrich Britting als Geschäftsführer einer mittelständischen WPG und bei einer internationalen Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft (Ernst & Young AG, zuvor Arthur Andersen) in Hamburg tätig. Er hat dort unter anderem IAS/IFRS und US-GAAP Abschlüsse geprüft sowie Umstellungen der Rechnungslegung von Konzernen begleitet. Darüber hinaus hat er zahlreiche Mitarbeiterschulungen im Bereich der nationalen und internationalen Rechnungslegung und Prüfung in Deutschland und den USA gehalten.

Norbert Freisleben is one of the founding members of the German CPA Society and member of the Executive Committee since September 2007.

He was a scholar of the German National Academic Foundation and studied economics at the University of Stuttgart-Hohenheim and the Aarhus School of Business, Denmark. Focuses of his studies were Taxes, Finance, Accounting and Law. Extended stays in the USA, France and Australia helped to complete his education. In November 1998 Norbert Freisleben very successfully passed the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) exam and has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) ever since.

Norbert Freisleben works for KPMG, a global audit firm, and specialises in the areas of international auditing and accounting. He also participates in a part-time postgraduate program; his PhD thesis covers the interconnection between international accounting standards and venture capital financing.

He is the author of numerous articles and publications in the field of international accounting and auditing, writes as co-author for the Munich Commentary on Accounting Law and is co-publisher of the “German Commentary on IAS/IFRS”.

Norbert Freisleben has held numerous employee trainings in the field of national and international accounting and auditing, is associate lecturer at the Pforzheim Graduate School and has been working for many years as an instructor for accounting according to IAS/IFRS and US GAAP in Germany and abroad.

Jörg Müller has been a member of German CPA Society from the beginning and in March 2001 he has become Deputy President of German CPA Society. He is a member of the Education Committees and supervises the US-GAAP Practice and Ethics Committee as Chariman.

He had studied computer science economics in Siegen in the main fields of tax advising, auditing and economic law.

Jörg Müller is specialized for internationally operating medium-sized companies. He mainly deals with medium-sized companies, who are “on the verge” of becoming international planning to establish foreign distribution structures or branches.

Jörg Müller is licensed as Certified Public Accountant in Cleveland/Ohio and a licensed member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) as well as of various transatlantic organizations.

Since 1997 he maintains his own homepage and a discussion forum for US-GAAP (www.joemueller.de) in order to facilitate the leap into international accounting for students and to provide a fast and unbureaucratic exchange for pracitcians.

Diplom-Kaufmann (master of business administration) Alexander Spieß, CPA, Steuerberater (tax advisor) has been member of the Executive Committee and of the Council of GCPAS since July 2003. He had studied business administration at the University of Mannheim. He passed the tax advisor's examination in 2000/2001 and has been appointed as tax advisor since 2001. Moreover, he is acknowledged as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Chicago/Illinois. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS).

Since July 2003 Alexander Spieß has been member of the GCPAS-Standing Technical Committees in charge of the US accounting (US GAAP Committee) and US audit standards (US GAAP Practice Committee).

As Partner he works in the fields of auditing and corporate finance at the auditing company FALK & Co GmbH (member of Moores Rowland International (MRI) an association of independent audit and tax advising companies) in Heidelberg. His main duties include the audit and (tax) advising of international clients of different lines of industries and sizes, which primarily range in the field of mid-sized businesses.

Klaus Wendlandt is member of the Executive Committee since its foundation on April 14th, 2000. He is managing the IFRS Practice Committee as Chairman.

Klaus Wendlandt studied in Stuttgart-Hohenheim economics and specialised in taxes, financing and accounting. He is working in the finance department of an automotive supplier as a director finance. During his working life he gathered extensive working experience in an auditing and tax consulting firm, in an international oriented, well-known German bank and in the industrial area.

Klaus Wendlandt is CPA and tax consultant (Germany). He is certified as Certified Public Accountant since May 2000 in Delaware and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

He is Director General of the CPA Panel. In this function he held various presentations and seminars. Additionally, he is author of several articles on IFRS topics and changes of the accounting in Germany. Furthermore, he is teaching in the fields of international accounting and changes of the accounting in Germany since several years.
